As a species, we need plants or animals that eat plants. This limits where we can live. The planet is seventy percent water so that part is mostly out of our realm.

We can't live to far north of the equator, or to far south of the equator. It gets too cold to support plant life.

We can only survive in a three mile sphere that encompasses the land surface of this planet. Most people, plants and animals could not live beyond the 15,000 foot altitude. We can live underground if we can grow food below ground. We cannot live in vast stretches of deserts because of the lack of water.

Just don't eat uncooked pigs because they cause trichinosis or certain shellfish because they cause paralytic shellfish poisoning

And just watch out for

  • the viruses, deadly bacteria, toxic fungi,
  • poison ivy/oak/sumac, ricin,
  • poisonous snakes, venomous spiders, killer bees, scorpions
  • jellyfish, piranhas, sharks, killer whales,
  • rabid animals, dingos, lions, tigers, crocodiles, alligators, pythons,
  • other humans,
  • quicksand, rockslides, landslides, avalanches, flash floods,
  • lightning bolts, hurricanes, tornados, tsunamis,
  • earthquakes, volcanos, meteors, asteroids, and
  • cosmic radiation.

Take all this under consideration and you might realize that less than one percent of this planet is habitable but rather hostile. Most animals do not care about our existence.

This planet was not made for us. We are lucky to have survived to this stage, and our story is far from over.

The one thing that is most dangerous to us, is ourselves.

Our intelligence will probably kill us all and the other creatures.
